And here it is…the Romanian symbol of the beginning of spring: a red and white string, meant to announce the end of the winter and the beginning of luck and love, wealth and prosperous times for the ones wearing it. It is usually offered to women, attached to an small decorative object, like a broche, depicting everything from flowers, clovers or animals. That’s right, it is a “marțisor”. A lot of traditions go around this entirely Romanian tradition, but for me, the most important thing is that SPRING IS HERE!
